How to Install the Papers Browser Extension

The Papers browser extension allows you to seamlessly import articles to your library directly from your web browser. Find papers as you normally would on Dimensions, PubMed, Google Scholar and journal websites, then add them to your Papers library using the browser extension. References can be added to any of the lists in your library, along with optional notes, and the extension will automatically import the associated PDF, if possible.

Google Chrome

  1. Install the browser extension from here.
  2. Confirm you want to add the browser extension.
  3. Sign in with the email address of your Papers account:
  4. The extension will be located in the top right corner of your browser, next to the search bar.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Install the extension from here.
  2. Click “Add to Firefox” and then “Add” in the small permissions window that appears:
  3. Then, sign in to your Papers account.
  4. The extension will notify you of a successful sign-in and an extension button will be located in the top right corner of your browser window, next to the search bar.

Apple Safari

  1. Download the browser extension here.
  2. Click “Get.”
  3. After the extension has been added to your browser, sign in to your Papers account.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Download the browser extension here.
  2. Click “Get” and select “Add extension” in the popup window that appears.
  3. The extension will then be added and you can pin it to your taskbar by clicking on the “Extensions” icon and selecting the “Show in toolbar” button:
