Citing organizations as authors in Papers

To cite an organization—such as the World Health Organization—as an author in your references or citations, a small manual adjustment is required. While we are working on integrating this feature into our application, you can currently achieve the desired formatting by adding a tilde (~) at the end of the organization’s name.

Example:

• Instead of entering “World Health Organization” in the “author” field, input “World Health Organization~”.

This simple addition ensures that the organization’s name is correctly formatted in both the Papers application and SmartCite.
